alan waugh: my spiritual journey started in earnest in 1986 following a trip to tibet, where i experienced a remembering of previous buddhist and shamanic lifetimes. following years of travel and observation, i settled in san francisco, finally leaving my birthplace of london, england permanently in 1990. arriving in the bay area at the height of the aids epidemic, i started volunteering with the zen hospice project to be of service in this time of dire need. it was here that my path as a healer was awakened, after realizing that there was more i needed to do than sitting simply at the bedside of the dying. i served in this capacity for 20 years and consider this some of my deepest training in the healing arts.

I have studied cross cultural healing techniques from Masters of many different healing traditions, including Huna and Core Shamanism, crystal, sound and energy healing and Reiki. I have always considered the Master Healers of Peru, to be my primary guides and mentors in Mestizo Shamanic healing practices. I am a mesa carrier of the Patchakuti Mesa Tradition, a ceremonial altar conceived and taught by Don Oscar Miro Quesada. With its earth honoring traditions, this allows me to engage directly with the forces of the natural and ancestral worlds, for the greater good of all, in the practice of sacred reciprocity.

I am a Reiki Master/Teacher and Practice Alchemical Hypnotherapy, both healing modalities that allow for the more active engagement of my client, in their process of healing and self –empowerment. In my time of working with the terminally ill, I have developed both a practical and spiritual understanding of the needs of people facing terminal illness. With mindfulness and compassion, I have assisted hundreds of people to live their last months and days, to a peaceful transition beyond. Through working with the terminally ill and their families, I have developed a particular sensitivity to assisting through the grief that can be experienced with any loss: death, divorce, job, health etc.

I have studied sound healing techniques, most notably with Tito La Rosa and use voice, bells, didgeridoo, drums and other percussive instruments, to further enhance the complete healing of body, mind and spirit. I also teach Shamanic Practices and Reiki for self – healing and empowerment and am a skilled ceremonialist, incorporating
extensive experience, to design powerful ceremonies for healing, funerals and weddings.
I am also descended from a long line of well – known European artists, writers and artisans and
am trained as a Master Furniture Maker and Wood Turner. My custom furniture can
be seen in some of the Bay Area’s finest homes and internationally.

In beauty may I walk

All day long, may I walk

Through the returning seasons, may I walk

Beautifully I will possess again

Beautifully birds

Beautifully joyful birds

On the trail marked with pollen, may I walk

With grasshoppers about my feet, may I walk

With dew about my feet, may I walk

With beauty, may I walk

With beauty before me, may I walk

With beauty behind me, may I walk

With beauty above me, may I walk

With beauty all around me, may I walk

In old age, wandering on a trail of beauty,
lively, may I walk

In old age, wandering on a trail of beauty,
living again, may I walk

It is finished in beauty

It is finished in beauty
